Hello,

I'm David in DeLand Florida.

Over the years we've created some interesting art around the gardens all from someones throwaways. This was the first project from 5 years a go when we bought the place here and got a new roof. Whe the tore off the old dated roof turbines, we kept them as they were still in working order.

After adding a small piece of ductwork for a column and adding a little paint and a few doo-dads, it looked great over the garden door which we also built. The window is an old Victorian air grate that went around the base sides of homes to allow airflow.

What fun to look at!

I forgot to tell you that the spire on top of the turbine is a simple plastic Christmas tree ornament with the hanger end drilled out and glued on with construction adhesive...

Creatively clever. I've been to DeLand, though it was probably about 12 years ago. Doesn't St. John's River run through your town? Or nearby?

It runs off to the west of us Sharon. Hontoon Island on the same is one of my favorite places and only 7 minutes from home.

They are Halloween fun...

The history of the masks and how I have them is;
...Way back in the days when author Anne Rice, who lived 3 blocks from my house and was big news (The movie "Interview with the Vampire" with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt was a local hit) and vampires were a hot item in New Orleans, I used to make a variety of vampire related art including these ceramic masks in many styles that I used to sell in her gift shop while she had it and in my own little Gallery. I was really good friends with a few of her close assistants. I still have a few, and use them at Holiday time.
