Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank you all so much. I am so excited to have one done and going in the yard. I have collected around 7 bowling balls over the years and am so excited to have one finished. The next one I am going to cover in pennies (shiny) I know they won't stay that way but I saw one online years ago and I really liked it.I also have bags of cat's eye marbles I want to cover one with.

I recently found 2 of the balls at Goodwill one was marked 99 cents and the other one wasn't marked. Took them to the register and got both for 99 cents each. I was told they are usually 2.99 each without a bag. My house looks like all I do is craft but I am having fun.

That looks very pretty, especially since the glass gems are kind of clear.

Really like that look of light over dark!

Will it reside in your garden? If so, would love you see a picture of it there.

Thank you for sharing!

Wow! I love these! What did you use for glue? Do you find that they withstand weather without dropping any of the marbles? Thanks

I agree

DaisyDee I use E-6000. I have used it before years ago to glue silk flowers on a sweat shirt and washing it quite a few times over several years and hanging to dry they held up awesomely. I don't think there will be a problem with them sticking to the ball once out in the weather. It is impossible to get the marbles back off once the glue sets.

I am really having fun doing these and have a few more to do. Thanks for all the compliments. Thank You! Thank You!

Here's the one I made in 2012 for this forum when we first talked about them. It still looks the same today and I used E6000.

One change I do remember, I turned the 'bowl' upside down because rainwater caught in the larger bowl and if the glass globs sit in water for awhile, the glue loosens and some of the glass will come off. As long as it doesn't sit in water, it will last a long time.
