A while back, while walking the dogs I saw that someone had thrown a small table out for trash pick-up. I had my son's boxer with me and hubby was lagging far behind because one of our small doggies, the Shih Tzu, was just taking her time. When he finally got home, he asked me if I'd seen the table. I told him that I had and that it was already in the garage! I actually picked the thing up and got it under one arm; boxer on a leash with the other and made it home.
Here's a picture of the table before I started on it:

and here it is finished. The globe on the right I picked up at a thrift store; there's a plug right behind it and I've got white Christmas lights stuffed in it. I love how it looks in the evening.

What an awesome job you did on the table! Thumbs up The arrangement of things on top of it and around it really compliment each other and the table. You turned it into a great find!

Elfie - that is absolutely beautiful and I LOVE all the bright colors. It looks like you had glass or plastic cut for the top of the table? What kind of paint did you use? I love the finish too. What a beautiful garden area. Thumbs up

Thanks. My husband got a sheet of plexiglas and cut it to fit (it was quite cheap). I'll have to look in one of the garage cupboards for the paint. I know I got it at Lowes and did it in two different shades of teal. At least that's what I call it.

Score!!! What a great find, Elfie!!

I agree with everyone about everything. When I clicked to enlarge I noticed more details like the cute knobs! Did you paint those?

No, Becky, I didn't paint the knobs. I treated myself to those from Hobby Lobby. They were under $5.00 I'm pretty sure. I'll have to download another photo of the table, which now has some glass totems on it. You can see part of a mirror on the trellis. That was a thrift store find; I painted the frame and glued those glass gems on to mimic grapes. I have a few mirrors on the trellis and they were all from thrift stores. I just painted them.

Elfie, I can't wait to see your totems! Aren't thrift stores a wonderful gift for creative people! You never know what you might find at them that might bring on an inspiration. Big Grin

OK -- finally got some of the photos organized. These photos were taken the other day. The center glass totem was made by a friend for me.
A few of them are open on the top, so I can put those battery operated tea lights inside. It does look pretty.

There are two tables on this patio and I've stayed with the teal color in the cushions of the larger table.
Thumb of 2014-10-19/orchidgal/222d9a

The piece of marble on the table is resting on a lazy susan.

Close up of a couple; the large one was made for me by a friend

I should mention that I've found a quick way to clean them (since I live quite close to the beach, things do get dusty). I use a soft paintbrush - about 1-1/2 inches and I keep it just for the knick-knacks and whatever on the patios.

It's all very beautiful, more beautiful because much of it is hand made.
