Ginger, that would feel odd, I'm sure. Hope you had fun watching and were able to give some advice along the way. Just those conversations during all the prep time can be priceless.
I know it was nice to have my mom over when I was preparing dressing last week. She told about the time she was 14 and was in charge of watching the turkey while everyone else went to church. When she went to pull the turkey out to check on it, she didn't know that the oven door dropped down like it did, so everything landed on the floor. She tried to clean it up as best as she could (she's lucky she didn't get burned!), but it was still a mess and Aunt Helen was beside herself when they returned! No turkey gravy that day.
My side of the family is getting together today at my mom's house, so I just put a 23 lb turkey in the oven. Celebrated last Saturday with our kids, so this Thanksgiving has lingered all week, but I'm enjoying it!
I hope everyone had/is having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
