Sue, I would think a little fertilizer would probably be a good thing now.
Especially for plants growing in containers. A local nursery man told me many years ago to give container grown plants regular light feedings throughout the growing season.
I live in a hot summer climate, and have to water containers every 1to 2 days, so a lot of nutrients get washed out of the soil.
If you're ever in doubt, call a local nursery.
