All About Purslane

Living in a dry heat with high temperatures between 105 and 110 during the summer, purslane laughs in your face and thrives here in Phoenix, Arizona. Add some incredible, edible ornamental purslane to your garden this summer! A salsa with purslane recipe is included in the article.

Becky, great article. I grow a variety that the seeds came from Lebanon. My DIL sent them. This type grows more upright and the flowers are very small. You have convinced to to grow some of the ornamental varieties this year. I think they would do very well with my sedum and semps. Thanks for the article.

That is so cool it is up already! Mine isn't and I am in a warmer zone but mine is the ornamental. I can see a few leaves trying to poke up.

I want to put them in different places in the flower beds, that is why I did the WS. My tomato plants, violas, hostas and yellow bleeding heart are all popping up out there. It is such an easy way to do seed.

Hurray! I will take a picture to post of mine. These are not so ornamental like the ones you have. They grow upright and fairly tall. Delicious Thumbs up .

Hi Linda. Yes I do still have seed. It grows tall and thicker stemmed and flowers are not very decorative. Did you get any of your seed planted Becky?
