First true leaves on some seedlings for now

well I have some lilies starting to pop through now. A little too early for where I live. So I have to cover and protect them good until frost is clear and gone. Also have some green popping up with the day lilies and a few other things. And my lily seedlings of course.

Dave-- Your home and garden are going to look spectacular again this year I can hardly wait! Strong possibility that my lilies will be unusual this year. Here I have had the opposite problem from you, too hot. My lilies started growing normal, actually all plants looking good. Then no shade because the trees had not gotten their leaves, no rain and ground temps going close to 100. All the plants shut down and stopped growing. Now it's been raining and cooler they started growing again, but they look stumpy. It is a good thing I can get my lily fix from you. May your garden and home be blessed with success!

Sorry to hear about your lilies. I would think the might still overcome that though and bloom for you

These pictures are of the field of my Bob Griesbach bulbs. They are starting to nose up!! These are not registered or named varities, and I have no idea what they will look like when they bloom. Lily roulette. But these are from his personal breeding program when he retired. For those that do not know who Bob Griesbach is, do a little googling about him But he started his program with 2 different lilies, and has bred them over the course of 60 years to the colors we have now. He is one of our modern era Lily pioneers. He also did a lot of work converting lilies from Diploid to tetraploid.

In other news, I have plenty of other lilies poking up around in my gardens. Which of course, always gets me excited this time of year.

Dave I can't even imagine the anticipation of seeing what blooms! Lucky you I have the Robert Griesbach lily in my yard that I just got from Ramona. Love the colors!
