Oh @mellielong! How nice to "meet" you! Are you unfurling your wings to dry in the garden?

Seriously, so nice to see your face!

I think this is some kind of looper on my dill... I don't like to share with just any ol' caterpillar!

Looper? Can you see it standing up trying to look scary? Although that makes me laugh, it still may have to relocate!! Hilarious!

I am worried that Melanie & family's home is in danger. Evacuations in Lutz because of wildfires.

Don't be worried, folks. Lutz is in two counties - Pasco and Hillsborough. I'm on the Hillsborough side and the fire is up in Pasco. We've also got a wildfire over by Flatwoods Park where I go hiking sometimes. They closed I-75 due to smoke. Mom and I could see the smoke while we were flying in and then when Dad was driving us home along I-275. I should probably stay inside due to asthma, but I do want to do a caterpillar check.

So we made it home just fine yesterday and I've mostly been asleep. I've got some pictures from Keukenhof I want to add to the database so I'll be doing that. I tried on my phone but the connection was so slow. It was a miracle you guys got the one picture of me! @jmorth I did take pictures of as many daffodils as I could and I saw that I took photos of some we don't have pictures for yet. So keep an eye out! I only had two hours at Keukenhof and I could have spent the rest of my life there! Lovey dubby

No butterflies were seen because it was so cold the entire trip. Mom froze. Hilarious! She's always cold but even I liked the heated floors in the bathroom at the Hotel Des Indes in The Hague. Towel warmer, too! I did see some bees in Kinderdijk, but that was about it for insects.

Funny story - I left all my moth pupa for Dad to watch in case they emerged. I come home yesterday evening and there's a moth in there waiting for me! And my brother is all, "We just checked that earlier!" Dad swears they wait for me. Thumbs up I'm not sure which one it was because I put them all in one container so Dad wouldn't have to watch more than one. And it flew off pretty darn quick!

Melanie, Did you have a chance to go in the Amaryllis house? Wow, surprised you could get out in only 2 hours, it is an incredible place! Glad you had a good time, I could live in AMS with no problem at all.

Glad you had a good time in spite of the cool environment. Thank you over and over for the daffodil additions, I'll be sending you some acorns to prove my point. We're glad your back, and safe and sound!
