Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.

A rainbow of flies! Hilarious!

Speaking of shiny things that catch your eye...

Here's one of those strange looking bugs... Tortoise Beetle. It was sparkling on the leaf like a little jewel.

The metallic gold color is only present in living specimens. When they die, they mostly turn black...even in scientific collections.

I think winter is finally done, the trees are all starting to leaf out, hopefully lots of blossoms for the beessoon.

DH built me this great bee house, I showed him a photo of what I wanted, and he did a super job. Lovey dubby I had him hang it on hooks so that I can remove it to a sheltered area under the deck for the winter, then I bring them out once it warms up.

Looks like I might have an uninvited guest! Found these eggs on the back side of a calendula leaf. Thinking it is stink bug eggs...

Anyone know if these are stink bug eggs?

surfing around for a match, I ran across this video of stink bugs hatching Blinking https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Wow! I didn't know this fact. I just love the tortoise beetles that come to my morning glory plants.

Sorry have not been so active for a while. Our neighbor moved and took his hives with him. Will try to do some bee shooting soon.

In the meantime...
