Salvia (microphylla x greggii) Heatwave™ Blaze

GARDENIA! The most welcome, exciting bloom possible in my yard! For the humans, anyway. Smells SO GOOD!


A cute little Spiranthes.



Ornamental purslane/the other moss roses are starting to bloom. (Portulaca umbraticola, saved over winter.)


Begonias in a pot, with a little tree planted sideways to cultivate an interesting bend in its' trunk.


Callisia fragrans is still going strong, also highly valued for the scent of its' blooms.

I think it was last year I moved my Gardenia from a very shady location to a much sunnier location. It is right at the top of the garden path, so I walk by it every day when going down to check the daylilies in the bog bed. I am thinking of adding a second one at the top of the other path. I never seem to be able to smell any of the daylilies strong enough to tell where the scent is coming from, but there is no doubt with the Gardenia.

Red hot poker, tickweed, dianthus, guara, Jacobs ladder, foam flower, clematis, alyssum, Mexican petunia, caryipteris, St. John's wort, diamond frost euphorbia, sage/salvia, are up and runnng -- iris peony and amsonia, blue-eyed grass, cushion euphorbia, and Columbine, Chinese fringe are done are as is candytuff..( done) The trees are growing crosses and memories in the prayer garden! Hyacinth bean vines finally a foot tall, plumbago waiting to sprout as are Shasta daisy and pomegranate. Creeping Jenny faithful as always.

I just took this photo and I am so happy to see how blue my Hydrangeas are again this year, I love it when they are very blue. I still have a few that are sort of in between blue and pink, they look nice but not nearly as pretty as the deep blue to me.



My lilies are putting on a good show now also!



I think this is my current favorite color of all the lilies, but that changes often.

I Love that blue. I saw some lace cap hydrangea .just a beautiful periwinkle blue .. I would love to grow them but deer much them to ground

Vinca: I am trying to pinch some of this back for more branching and blooms, I never seem to get around to that each year.


Amaryllis: A few new blooms still sporadically.

Paris Heart: This one sort of stole the show the day it first bloomed.

Oh I love all but especially the last. Need to look it up..zone and deer resistance

I had the same thought, Rosie, "he saved the best for last!" Wow!

Loved it ..so do the deer. Had give in front yard today..fat as ponies. Grrrrr

Can't get enough Portulacas!







Kalanchoes, Zinnias, Dianthus, more Portulaca cuttings but not yet big enough to be doing much yet, a butterfly bush.

Begonias are really loving being able to spin in the breeze under the trees. Most flowers ever on this one I've had for about 7 yrs, 'Castaway.'

Walked around the garden today, not raining for a change, and took some photos of things still blooming and things just starting to bloom.
Dahlias I got from Kabby.
