What happened to our Florida Forum Moderator? We no longer have one listed and I see that former moderator Budgielover last posted in 2014, so I'm assuming she isn't around the site anymore.

The reason I'm asking is, I comprised a list of Florida Arboretums & Botanical Gardens (name, address, phone and web address) and wanted to ask the moderator if it could be included in a *Sticky* at the top of the page or in the *info box* on the right side of the page for our Florida members as well as members who may be planning a visit to our beautiful state.

Do you think this would be a good idea? I'd love to see something like this for all specific state forums ... I know it's the first place I'd look if I was vacationing in one of the states represented here on garden.org.

I don't recall the specifics here but if a moderator doesn't access the site for a year I know that it's my habit to remove their account's moderating permissions. Nothing against the person, of course. I just like to keep things tidy.

If you'd like to post that thread, please do and I'll be very happy to add it as a link to the sidebar!

Given how many times you pick up errors and post questions in the Plant Database or Site Talk forums, you seem pretty on-the-ball to me... not scatterbrained at all! It's also said that age is in the mind.

As for the other two... I'm afraid I can't help with those!

Forum moderator is easy stuff Lin, really. You are already on the site a lot and that's one important ingredient. I moderate several and it's not a big chore at all, it just gives you the editing privileges to keep things running smooth should they be needed.. I do occasional editing of thread titles, when they are misspelled or blank, on rare occasions I fix something in a post. You can create 'sticky' threads and later unstick them if you want. The Rose Forum has a monthly bloom and chat thread, it stays sticky for that month and then when the next month's thread starts, it gets unstuck so it now rolls down with the other threads. See, all simple stuff, not a biggie!

If I was ten years younger, I'd feel perfectly comfortable being moderator but at this point in my life it's not something I'm interested in doing. Even though I know I could handle it fine, I feel like I'd have to watch the forum on a daily basis and although I don't have a super busy life, I'd rather not take on that obligation or responsibility. There are a few Florida members who'd do a wonderful job as moderator so hopefully someone who has the ambition will step up and volunteer for the job.
