I've seen that a few times but I wouldn't say 'often'. I'll look for it now so I can track it if need be.

They're always above the post you just made. Maybe even on the previous page depending on the sequence number of your post.

Ok. It was just intended as a "heads-up" for anyone who doesn't understand how that works. I'm sure both of you do. FWIW, I'm not experiencing that problem.

Thank you for the heads up Mac. It is always good to check. It might be something I really don't know. That would be lots of things. nodding

I haven't been getting the "this thread received new replies.." message, but have noticed recently that when I leave a thread and go to the home page there's an indicator that the thread has been updated -- but when I go back to it, it hasn't been. That's been happening whether or not I add a reply to the thread.

I got the msg just now. On the screen (main or 1st for me as I never changed the default) it indicated that this thread had something new. I selected it, read the latest msg which was posted by Lynn last night at 11:42. However, I had already read her post.

So additionally, before I started to type this post, I saw the msg that this thread had already received new replies, etc. I was only looking to read, not write. So I looked and saw Lynn's msg which I'd already seen. Am I making sense? I can try wording this differently if need be.

Also saw that a different thread, Growing Milkweed, had something new. Again, not true. I'd read the msg before logging off last night.

Aha. Just saw Weedwbacker's msg which was new to me. But she worded it more concisely than I did. Let's now see if I get the 'received new reply (falsely) when I hit 'finish'.

I think the 'new message' indicator doesn't change after you've read messages if you use the 'back arrow' to get out of a thread. It will stay there if you do that. It disappears when you use the 'home' to get out of an area. I forget and use the 'back arrow' quite often and see the 'new message' remain and I've read all the posts. Something else you all probably know already.

Yes, knew it and have same habit. But it's usually 'faded' so I figured it might not have caught up with my post. Sorry that I'm not more concise.

True -- and I sometimes do that, and expect to see the "new messages" symbol; but it's also been happening lately when I click on the "home" icon at the top left of the screen or the "garden.org homepage" link at the bottom.

@valleylynn - Were you getting paranoid? (kidding)

Actually I know the feeling and either don't report something or report something that is working as designed. But that's my bad.

Glad you reported this one.

Good change. Now when I return to the home screen I no longer see that a thread has been updated when it hasn't been.
