Hello,
my name is Susanne and I'm a garden addict. My garden is situated in the very west of Germany, quite near the river Rhine.
My focus is on perennials, especially daylilies. Some years ago I've started breeding daylilies. The target motto is "stars and confetti", that is, plants for european climate, diploid, tall, widely branched, with small flowers, round or star-shaped and possibly spiders.
It's to be supposed that I'll spend most of the time here in hemerocallis threads. However, I used to toy around garden web in the late nineties, so I'm also looking forward to meet some familiar faces and of course new ones, too.
I've attached a foto of my favourite seedling this year. First flowers with three years of age, three branches, 37 buds, rainbow colours and gold dust.

Welcome! Susanne, you will love it here. I love your seedling. It is a beauty. I just started hybridizing last year, but there are many extremely accomplished hybridizers on this forum. There is something here for everyone who loves daylilies!

Welcome Susanne,

I love your seedling. I have bought a few daylilies from Germany this year (from Boitzer/Gerald Hohls).

Edited to add:: do you have pics of some of your other seedlings too? I would love to see them and I am sure everyone else on here would too.

Thanks for the welcome! Smiling
So you want more pics... lemme see. Here's a sibling to the one above. I had to check it several times, simply couldn't believe that siblings can be so different from each other.

I'm already feeling very much at home here. Have to check out the other threads, too.

Here's an older seedling, which took almost five years for the first flowers to come, but then wow! Diameter is 22 cm... don't ask me inches, lol.

That's the main problem for us Europeans, Susanne, the long time from seed to flower.

I had one that flowered for the first time this year but the seed was sown in 2010, 7 years to flower!

Hoping the ones sown this year don't take as long!

Great seedling, Susanne. 22 cm is a little over 8.5 inches, doing a rough calculation in my head Rolling my eyes.

Well, some time has passed since I last managed to log in here... I've given it another try and hopefully can visit more often.
The recent year has brought exiting new seedlings, here are a few:
