We, as a group have many members and I am sure that some or many have been affected by the storms on the American east coast, by the fires in California and by the fires in BC, Canada. We should all bow our heads and pray for those unfortunates and give thanks for being spared the same ordeal. Hopefully the good Lord will comfort and console those who have had to experience this terrible tragedy. I am sure that the effect on them is more than monetary and also very traumatic.
God bless everyone of them!

I just finished reading the huge ad that the pot industry inserted into your website, looking for investors to help them push more dope on the public. These are people who don't care how they make their money or who suffers as a result. Just because the Canadian governmen (read Justin Trudeau) has decided that its OK for everyone to be doped up doesn't make it right! Legal, probably, but not right. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop this movement and I am sure that once the financial results become obvious the US will jump on the bandwagon, especially since some States have already done so.
It is unfortunate that Trudeau did not stay with his original accomplishments of taking selfies and hugging the gay community. He is now proceeding with some serious harm to the whole continent and the results will be obvious very soon. Pot is just the beginning.
It is also unfortunate that our organization is enabling them by providing them with the platform!

Calm down, Airborne! I have not seen any pot ads, I think you have a problem with your browser. Did you recently Google marijuana or click on a suspect link? Try clearing your computer's cookies. By the way, the same things you are saying about pot were said about alcohol, but Prohibition did not work. I don't think you need to worry so much, because everybody did not turn into drunks after Prohibition ended!

I have opted to not see any ads here on NGA, but back when ads were visible, Google tends to follow a person around and places ads on your screen... I had asked in the Site Talk forum, it is not necessarily an ad visible to everyone on NGA, therefore I was seeing ads for support stockings and other stuff I had been recently researching on the internet.

I got a chuckle out of your cannabis post, Airborne. But, please, to keep the peace in this courteous web site, stick to gardening topics. I do realize this is posted in the Sandbox and that growing cannabis is a legitimate discussion, but both politics and religion are rather hot buttons that are actively discouraged. I rather look at this site as my 'safe spot' to get away from all the vitriole found on other social web sites. Have a happy holiday.

Pot has been legal for medical purposes for some time and I have no problems with that. What I do have a problem with is, since it will be legal for everyone, having to face drivers, high on pot competing with drunks, high on booze, over running our highways and streets. Don't we have enough problems in this regard already without deliberately manufacturing more. I know that not everyone will agree with me but if you give this some serious thought, you might come to the realization that it is not all sweetness and honey. Let's take our heads out of the sand!
By the way, I did not manufacture the ad, it was there. Neither have I googled anything to do with cannabis.
We have a lot of other issues that should be dealt with and this is not one that governments should spend so much time pushing. If the culprits presently involved were seriously pursued and punished we wouldn't have a problem. But, as I said before it's all about money, those earning it from sales and those on the take. Government has decided that they want their share. When culprits caught with thousands of fentinal tablets are out on bail the following day, its a farce.

"Someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion." This is the definition of an internet troll. The add, like all adds on the web are produced uniquely for each person base on their own browsing history. That is a fact. The other fact is that this is the National Gardening Association. Your way off topic here in the sandbox. Please feel free to continue your rant.

Strangely, this thread was started by Airborne as a sympathetic outreach to the wildfire victims. I have no clue how he or she made such an about-face to rant about cannabis...? Perhaps we should just get back on topic and continue to extend well wishes to the folks who are fighting to save their homes. It must be particularly difficult during the holiday season (although any time your home is threatened is not a good day). Stay safe everyone, and enjoy a peaceful holiday in whatever manner you choose to celebrate.

Sorry, but did not view Airborne's post as trolling, but rather a statement about an ad that was seen on the site. Airborne I have always had good luck sending a T-mail to Dave if there is a question of content.

The problem with this is that NGA hesitates/refuses to delete or close any thread in the Sandbox forum. I do not own this site so I have to abide by their rules. Thumbs down

I feel that this entire thread should be deleted as it is going nowhere...fast.

Are we talking about natural disasters? No. Not any more. It has taken a turn for the worse.

Can we let this thread die?

Please.
