I've been working outside lately, trying to get a few things planted around the yard so I haven't taken the time for photos but the hummingbirds have been around for the past week and I finally picked up the camera to see if I could get some pictures.

Hawks are around again and I also managed a clear shot of one this morning. They seem to like to perch on the dead branch at the top of a neighbors pine tree:

Silly wing flapping ducks. I wonder why ducks do that? Anyone know?

I found what they wrote about the wing flapping to be rather funny considering that I was looking for answers


Whatever the reason, it is neat to watch. It's when they beat the water with their wings or do somersaults in the water that I am really puzzled!

Little Red Capped Sparrow, or is it Chipping Sparrow? The start of the returning birds for us! The Turkey Vultures have been back for a while, but I haven't been able to get a good picture.
