After I wildsowed the wildflower seeds this winter; I said this was the last year I was going to sow wildflower seed. But now everything is coming up & going gangbusters. This is 3 times more full than last year. It's really just now all coming together like I had originally envisioned. Now I'm stoked & am already planning my order for fall.
Here's a sampling. Other areas have yet to begin their peak bloom so they are not included.
The photo below shows how all the areas kind of start out. Just as small patches which are not showy at all in photos at any distance but catch your eye when you are here in person.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

Those are lovely photos. If you can identify the drifts of flowers, they'd all be nice additions as landscape photos. I'm sure they would inspire others to try a meadow planting. Beautiful.

Why thank you Deb.
About the landscape photos ~~~ I have a Mac & for some reason that just isn't compatible with naming plants on landscape photos. Tried it before.
However, for this thread.....
Mostly what you're seeing blooming in the photos at this point are:
Drummond phlox Drummond's Phlox (Phlox drummondii)

Darn re the landscape malfunction issue. I hope Dave addresses this sooner as opposed to later, it seems a lot of folks are struggling with the tagging. I have only part-luck with it myself, some tags work as they should, others throw themselves to the far left margin for some reason.

Oh my, I haven't heard about the tags throwing themselves to the sides.

Thank you so much for your sweet words Mindi! Thankfully the house has lots & lots of windows & the interior is laid out such that no matter which room you are standing in, you can see the outdoors on 2 sides of the house. In the LR, you can see the outdoors on 3 sides of the house.

It's just about time for me to post photos of how things are progressing this year. Certain events took place in the last 6 months so I never did get around to ordering & therefore sowing any additional seed. It will be interesting to compare the photos from 2018 to this year since no new seed was added.

Well here we are in year 5 but rather than begin a new thread, I think I will just post photos for year 5 here & keep this thread going. This way it's easier to see the changes I think.
This group of photos are from April 10th - April 25th of 2019. These are what I call the pinks. It's really the Drummond phlox mostly. There are some others blooming but the yellows haven't really begun to put on their show yet.

We were out somewhere a couple of days ago and happened to be driving in an area with farms and acreage when my husband commented that he'd like to have a place with a few acres and some cows! I laughed and told him that we should have done the acreage thing when we talked about it years ago, when we were YOUNG! I asked him if he remembered that we are in our early 70's.
