The first of my Iris are blooming just two so far. Hopefully more tomorrow it's been cool and wet here. I believe the first is Concertina and the second is my Pacifica Iris Smiling just found out the color and I have to say I'm quite happy with it. Thought it was going to be yellow.

With the whiter falls and short horns I think your IB looks more like Viper than Concertina. Though they are very similar.

Thanks Robin and Bonnie Smiling

And thank you Leslie for sharing images! You know it does look like Viper. So I checked my book today and I have it listed as Concertina. I bought this one it at Lowe's and that's what the packaging said. I've heard the box stores are notorious for mislabeling but would viper be something they would get ahold of? It was labeled, bagged and sealed.

Me too, Rebekah. I have tried very hard to grow a blue TB and the only ones I have seen bloom that comes close is Absolute Treasure. I grow several SDB's that are really blue but the TB's almost always show lavender influence. Two that I was anxious to see, Blue Trill and Dodger Blue, I lost this winter so I am thinking about giving up on blue irises. Shrug!

I'm sorry they were lost to you Bonnie. Do you think they are any less vigorous?
I'm hoping I purchased Doger blue and possibly Absolute Treasure, thought I haven't seen them yet. I've written down all my Irises except the ones from my first order. I hope there is a tb blue Iris out there for you. I know I saw one in my neighborhood before I moved three years ago. I really regret not knocking on their door to find out what it was. Sighing! Because that Iris was blue. A light blue without lavender! Oh well they may not have known. I think the flower beds have been replanted with something else. I don't know maybe it's the soil Ph.

Love the peachy coral one. The bottom iris looks like Clarence.

As for Viper/Concertina, it is a good question if a box store could get either of them. The box store iris are often extras from big vendors. For instance, you will find a lot of Schreiner iris. Shrug!
