Great! Then if you'd like to write a note to yourself, you go to your profile, and look at the bookmark link. You can click the pencil and write your note.

Wait a minute.
I still can't do what I wanted.
I found an article about sweet onions, and wanted to bookmark it, but there's no icon available on that page.

I have no idea how it looks on a phone screen, but I just looked at an NGA article about sweet onions and I found the bookmark icon. On my laptop screen the icon was to the right of the article, just next to the green 'thumbs up' icon. Here is a screenshot of what I see:

I know I went clear down to the bottom at least twice looking for it, and never saw it, but I just checked again, and there it is.
Thank you both.

It took me a long time to find it. I was just about to give up when I finally located it.

When I find things I was to 'keep', I do a copy/paste and put them onto the free blog space that NGA gives us. I don't publish those kinds of blog entries; just use it as a notebook for my own use.

I don't know anything about blogs. I'll have to check that out.

I know nothing about blog posts but after reading this I decided to find out. The general instructions (which I skimmed) don't seem to indicate whether the blog can be made private. I didn't want to pursue it before I know.

@greene — I like your idea of the copy/paste, etc. So is there a field or checkbox that asks if you want the blog to be private? And can you have more than one blog? (the wheels are turning)

You follow the prompts to create a blog. You can save/preview/edit...as many times as you like. If you are happy with your blog and want it to go public, you click on 'publish this blog' (or something like that). If you never hit the 'publish' key, it stays in private just for your eyes.

I have lots of entries that are public. I have a bunch that's not published as they are just notes for me/myself/and I. Might be photos I grabbed from the internet to use as inspiration to do a project or a recipe idea that I am inventing.

Oh, and if you accidentally hit publish you can just as quickly un-publish it. Just one more click. Hope this helps.

Oh, I should say that my daughter tried to explain to me that there are ways to keep notes on my computer but when I do it her way...the notes are lost forever. Having everything handy here on NGA, a place I visit almost every day, things just don't get lost. Thumbs up

Thank you ma'am.

I know what you mean about things getting lost on the computer. In my case, it's more like I forgot I ever bookmarked or saved something. Putting my gardening observations, such as they are, on a blog here could make life easier, assuming I remember that I created a blog.

It didn't work for me. I made notes yesterday, and saved it but didn't publish it, and today it's gone.

I think you may have to publish at least one blog post in order for it to show up on your profile so you can then you can access your blog control panel and find your in progress unpublished ones.
I could be wrong though. Shrug!

If you remembered to save and preview the blog is still there. Go up the Community, click on Blogs, then to Your Blog Control Panel, then to In Progress. then View List. Give it a try and if that works for you.
