Uncommon Flowers and grasses used from the garden to fill a large vase full of color and character. Guara, yarrow, penstemons,Russian stage, steel grass, zebra grass, quaking grass. All the common names.

I like taking handfuls of anything I can pick in one sweep and plop in a vase.Gives me time to gloat & say to myself, "Hey I Grew all these flowers from seed" ! Rolling my eyes.

It woke up!
I'm so happy! Always enjoy seeing new floral design.
My own are quite modest, since i don't grow many flowers anymore, and I haven't been able to load good quality pictures for some reason, but I really appreciate the creativity others bring.

@Serpent.. Hi Vera …
Flowers are not the only materials used for floral arrangements.. leaves twigs berries cones grasses,tree and shrub branches also can make very handsome arrangements.

Especially fall floral materials literally falling off trees. Dried floral,arrangements or small living arrangements are very popular .

If you have a interest in floral arrangements take a peak at the link below.
Showing many members who have posted their arrangements showing a wide variety of materials from there own gardens.

Yes, I've done some fun things with dried plants - in fact, for several years, I had a big rack in my storage room to hang plants upside down. I've done a lot of wreaths, as well, both with wildflowers and greenery. Hands not so handy these days (lost crochet, too, alas!), so I've cooled off on it.
Do everything you can, while you can, babies!

Hi @Serpent..Vera
Hands always seem to give up quicker than any of us would like to experience. It's a change of lifestyle forced upon us way earlier than we expect. Adjusting to change .
In your description using plant materials and crochet can be tough on hands . You know the drill, take care of those joints. Have you tried..Lavender wax melted in a hand spa and dip hands in the warm wax ? It is an amazing treatment.
At the very least it's important to share and teach what skills we can for the next generation and find the things that bring us happiness. Becoming mindful and take care of what we can, to maintain a good quality lifestyle
