My understanding was that these plants only grow out west. Are you growing this in Illinois? If so, I'm now wondering if we can grow them here in Texas.
I grow 3 different ones in my garden here in central Illinois. Last spring blooming commenced in late April through mid May. As a matter of fact there are 2 camassias that grow wild in the state - C. scilloides and C. angusta.. Both grow naturally in moist prairies and open woodlands (the former is listed as occasional, the latter as state endangered.)
I'm also wondering if they could be grown in Texas! Lovely!
