As the thread title says, this is for local pick-up only. I will not ship bulbs! Bulbs are delivered in September, except for amaryllises and oriental hyacinths, which are harvested later. Pick-up will be some combination of the fall plant swap at Lisa's (assuming timely delivery), at my place in Frederick, or at Aspenhill's place near Lucketts, VA.
As usual, our vendor is ADR Bulbs.

I can log in to see prices, but most of you won't be able to do so... no worries, just ask and I'll look it up. For the most part, you can expect to pay 1/3 of what it would cost at a retail store (or even a semi-wholesale site like van Engelen). One exception are crocuses, which are usually priced competitively but not cheaply. They've provided us with lovely big bulbs in past years! In particular, you can't beat jumbo Amaryllis bulbs for $5.50!
Time to turn our minds to cooler fall weather and planting bulbs for a glorious spring show! Post on this thread to say what bulbs you're interested in and how many (a range can be helpful -- eg, "at least 15 but could take up to 50"). We can only order in wholesale quantities, so if there are 75 daffodils in the box we'll need orders for 75 of that variety. (Well, I'm sorta easy about ordering something even if the box isn't quite "full," or pre-sold, because I can usually count on this group to juggle numbers as needed at the end.)
Please bear in mind that this is a group purchase, which varies from a retail order in a couple of significant ways. (Yes, this is the fine print... READ IT anyway!)
1. It's a cooperative effort, so people may need to be flexible about quantities -- if we've pre-sold one entire box but don't have enough interest for two boxes, then I'll juggle the numbers around so everybody gets some. (I'd rather do that then say, first come first served, so tough luck.) Similarly, unless you are willing to purchase a whole box of something, if there's not enough interest in an item, it may not make it to our final order.
2. I'm not a retailer, so I can't absorb a loss... if something happens such that we pay our money but don't get some/all of our bulbs, you are still responsible for paying your share. (If I pay them, you pay me. If I get a refund, so do you.) That said, we've been working with ADR for years, and even when there are snags, they've always taken care of us.
3. Payment is due at pick-up, unless you haven't participated in one of my group buys -- then I may ask for payment ahead of time and/or limit your total purchase price (both for your sake & mine).
This thread can be a little crazy at first, with everybody posting what they see that they like, trying to get others interested in the same, me chiming in to say what's still "available" (eg, needing to be ordered by us as a group before I can order the box/bag/flat), and so forth. Don't worry. Somehow, it all seems to work out just fine!
4. There will be 2% - 10% added to your total, to cover repacking supplies and/or unsold bulbs. (That lets me order a box here and there that hasn't been entirely pre-sold, although usually we can "sell off" those bulbs at the end of the sale.)
