Only bad photo today, this guy was all over the place. I couldn't get my feet set and the camera zoomed and focused before he would move on. Finally I just went for It and the autofocus grabbed the petal in the lower right corner to focus on, and then he was gone.

See, it really is getting better. In our garden it is as much claret as purple. I adjusted the color some to bring it close to a match on my iPad screen. Natural light, no sun

Beautiful blooms Charley and Roger! Love your shot of the butterfly on Cherokee Fables. I also like Soli Deo Gloria Siloam Double Classic.

Roger and Karen, lovely purples - a favorite color of mine!

Although the bloom season is winding down, there are still some exceptional late blooms and reblooms from my daylilies.

Blooms to post are getting fewer. Just a few to post today Sad

Midnight Smoke Rings is new to the garden, planted early last September. It just started blooming now.

@CaliFlowers Ken, thank you for liking the seedling pictured above but unfortunately it does not have good statistics. It is from KING COBRA X GASKINS 1305. Scape height is about 3', bloom size is 6", low bud count & 1 branch. Not sure if it will improve next year as this is the first year this seedling blooms.

This is the same bloom as the one in the first post in this thread. The reason I included this is that it was taken twelve hours after the bloom was picked. The tungsten light changes the color but the bloom sure held up well.

Pink Promenade is a good one, happy you like it Charley. Red Rocks really made me look, love the color and form. I have a bunch of images from the last week of July that will get mixed in, the plants are still blooming in most cases, makes no sense to rephotograph for an Aug. date.
Starting with a true Aug. image Smiling

Little Sumpin, a sweet bloom with a big watermark.

Two nice doubles, Almost Indecent and Siloam Olin Frazier.

Night Flyer, the color is a nice deep dark burgundy purple, but it spots terrible and never really opens well. Took 4 years to get one so-so image.....compost pile.

Small World Laughing Clown, whimsical blooms that twist and stretch in all directions.

Up On the Roof, a tall pretty salmon coral with nicely branched scapes.

Wooster Whispers of Love, a nice surprise bonus plant last summer. This bright rose red diploid is putting on a good show this year. Thumbs up

I love all the pleated forms on your daylilies, Char! You have posted so many nice ones. Are there a few that are absolutely your favorites?

Sorry everyone! I posted the wrong name for my red daylily. It is Crimson Cowboy and not Red Rocks. I don't know what I was dreaming at the time.

Debra, your photography is amazing! I love Flash of Mischief. I too would love to see its double version if you have a photo of it.
