Hello! I'm a 40-something clueless gardener in the northeast USA. I really don't know what I'm doing, but I'm stubborn and keep trying. I've been hoping to find an online community so that I could have a hive-mind "mentor" to assist me as I continue to stumble, fail, and get stumped left and right, making mistake after mistake more often than I get lucky. I love to cook, so my focus is on plants that produce something edible. :)

Hopefully this community here can help me. Thanks in advance! Smiling

Warm welcome from the Pacific NW. Explore the various forums, you might be interested in the fruit/veggie forum, herb forum, and perhaps a regional one. Another catch-all is simply the All Things Gardening forum. For specific questions, there is the Ask a Question forum. Meanwhile, I just gave you an acorn, which you can save up to 'purchase' raffle tickets or personal badges that reflect your gardening interests (the little icons on the right side of the post). You can also earn acorns by posting photos, comments, and additions to the database. Enjoy!
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Hi,

First about me : 53 year old married man with 2 daughters living in Antwerp, Belgium(quite far for most of you, I presume)

I'm mostly interested in pot plants and growing pumpkins....

My first post is one about a Brugmansia I want to torture by trying to leave it outside in the winter and
see how that goes...

So, greetings from Belgium!!

If by any chance the Brug does not make it, when you remove it ensure that you use gloves and not bare hands!

Welcome Wimsomnia!
My Dad grew pumpkins when I was growing up. They need a LOT of room and a LOT of water! But they are so neat!
