Now they are talking about possible 90s next week.
As usual once one get used to nasty weather , whether hot or cold, it changes.
I miss the hot days , a little bit, as you did not have to worry about it getting too cold at night.
High humidity on these cooler days though is nice in its own way.

71 F here right now with eighties and possible nineties for the rest of the week .
Above average obviously but the last time we had this was ten years ago, plus or minus and that year it was in the seventies all through Oct. with an instant change the 1st of Nov. to slightly below average.
Back in '93 I was laying sod in the morning, in the seventies in a T-shirt, finished that evening in a snow storm and it was sub-zero by weeks end. Rolling on the floor laughing

As annoying as it can be that is one of the most fascinating things about being in the middle of Minn. One week can go from sub-tropical to near zero temps, or less. I tip my hat to you. Thumbs up

Yes it will be getting cold the next few nights. I am turning on the heater in the greenhouse tonight. My toms and birdhouse gourds still need some time to ripen. I cut flowers for the last time, the rest will freeze. I just went around and took the last of the flower pictures.

Nice, I want to pick up that grey bundle of fur and rub noses.
Our boys though are now, even though it is above average temp. here, starting to sleep on the same chair for the first time since winter.

Fall is here and fitting for the year temps. have gone from semi-trop. to ten degrees below average, though today was not bad at all, worked out side in shorts and T-shirt, got wet and did not bother me at all.

We had frost at 4:30 this morning, but then it turned cloudy so it was melted by 6:30 and the garden survived! But looks like it will freeze tonight...

Froze at the North Garden but not at the South.
Sadly my field corn down South was just starting the dry down some still ripening and I discovered that six out of ever seven cobs had ear worms so I picked most of it and squished corn worms for an hour.
No big deal but very annoying and now I know next year, as much as I do not like the stuff, I will have to use bug killer.
I have been growing corn for decades and never had an infestation like this before.

Hilarious! Caroline, at least you can get them planted, probably no very nice out there though. I got an unpleasant surprise when I got up too this morning, the ground was white and it was lightly snowing. Angry This is too early for snow, it could be a long winter for us. Sighing!

RpR, too bad about your corn, better luck next year.

So here was yesterday feeding birds along the river and then today in my yard. A few hours ago I spent $700 on a snow blower.

j52, hope it melts quickly, that's a lot of snow. Blinking I haven't done any fall cleanup yet, thankfully I emptied, cleaned and got the fountain put away last week.

Hello mcash,
I just finished up my yard yesterday. Looks like better temps in a couple days. I started shoveling today at 7:30am and finished at 4pm with several breaks of course. I also notified my winter customers that my rates just bumped up by $50 for the winter. They are all quite happy to pay up. lol

That's a lot of shoveling, j52, don't blame you for increasing your rates. It's warming up here today so that small amount of snow we got should melt. Crossing Fingers!
