Hello All!

First time poster here, I have undertaken turning my downstairs into a living Jungle, going on six months now and I'm slowly fine tuning lighting etc.

A neighbor of mine gave me their ridiculously georgeous Plumeria, however after having her a couple months, especially the last few weeks I'm noticing some curious possible leaf issues (see photos) can anyone help me identify if it is a bacterial/fungal or some other issue?

Excuse the mess and cords going everywhere in the whole room picture, I'm training passion and Mandevilla vines to cover them Smiling

That is quite a setup. Your leaves may have had some bug damage but this is the time of year plumeria start to go dormant and lose their leaves. I think it would be hard to prevent dormancy with artificial lights but I have never tried. I grow mine in a greenhouse and they go dormant slowly in the late fall early winter. It looks very healthy.

Appreciate it, and thanks. Been using ladybugs as roving pest destroyers, and have been having a back and fourth with fungus gnats, however if you don't feel it is in imminent danger that makes me feel much better..

A dilution of H2O2 will usually take care of the fungus gnats.

Again, thank you to everyone for the feedback. Since my last posting I have turned the power cords into "vines" using decorative moss, Spanish moss and airplanes and have been training mandivella/Passion flower/ and a variety of other vines to grow up to and into them to further cover them and give the vines routes to the tree branches I've set up to offer a natural looking support.

I've also replaced all my Metal Halide bulbs, and set all my supplemental LEDs to supply an optimal spectrum and intensity to all plants both low lying and the large palms, plumeria and bananas! Will post picture if anyone is interested.

I am certainly interested!!!! Your setup is so realistic I am almost embarrased to ask: The backdrop is a painting/photo, not real running water? It sure looks like it! Great job!!!!

Hey all,

Just wanted to throw some more pictures up of some recent progress to my living room jungle. First is of a passion flower vine I forget the species that I planted a few weeks ago that is now averaging a little over a foot of growth per week! I am training it to latch onto the chains that support and LED supplemental light. I'm also having a more mature Mandevilla and another baby Mandevilla intersects with the passion vine to hopefully create some absolute craziness on the fake vines around the chains

for some perspective the other photo is of a passion vine I've had for about a year now which has grown to the end of the log I had for eight made a U-turn and has three new main offshoots that I am training in different directions .

Also wanted to show the progress of another Amanda Vela that is being trained and has completely latched on to you and hidden the twine are used to bring it up to and now starting to grow across the extension cords that power the lights that I am camouflaging with moss and air plants

And finally, the reason we are all here is a picture of my Plumaria tree which is doing fantastic with regards to everything I've been dealing with both a fade and spider mites the last couple of weeks and the final photo shows what I cannot stress enough is the best way to combat pests and those are ladybugs! Shout out to Arbico Organics who is supplying me with any and every past destroyer as a chemical alternative that I need.

Are used voice dictation for everything I have just "typed in "and I'm too lazy to go back and re-read everything but if something sounds way off it's because Siri is an idiot, not me.

All right people! It's update time again. I'm playing around and replaced one of my metal halide bulbs with a super HPS bulb to see what it will do to the flowering guys I have in the Jungle here are some pictures with the lights on:

I'm not sure if those little buds that you see are going to be flowers as the passion vine is only a couple months old.

Justin, I love what you've done! I have plants inside for the winter, but mine aren't displayed so creatively. Your plants all look very happy too. Thanks for posting!
