Thank you both! I'm not sure now if I'll be leaving permanently or just spend less time here but check in occasionally.

Sometimes just taking a step back and spend more time away from here has worked well for me, helps to refocus on what is important to me personally and what I can shrug off and not let affect me.

I actually did send a message to the admin last night asking if they could delete my account. But so far its still here and I haven't heard anything which is why I started the thread. Not quite sure yet if I'm leaving or not though.

Winter is long. Not much gardening to do, so stick around and maybe investigate other forums that may not be of any interest to you now but they may create a spark of interest.

Why were you thinking of leaving NGA?

When I get annoyed with this (or any) web site, I first re-evaluate why I use it to begin with. What do I expect to get out of it? Is it still useful for my purposes? This usually re-grounds me and I can then just gloss over whatever unpleasantness I might be experiencing. Sometimes certain members set me off. Easy enough to ignore, and there is always the option to block them (I've never used that). Sometimes I don't like how things work. Oh well. Use what works, perhaps offer suggestions to improve, but (again) ignore features that don't fit into your world. I love using and adding to the database, I really appreciate the personal plant inventory, and I enjoy chatting with like minded gardeners. All is good.

Concerns about privacy and spending too much online, mostly.

I can understand those concerns Joanna. I think Dave and Trish do a great job with security on this site, and I wouldn't say that about many sites.

Spending too much time online is an ongoing issue with a lot of people. Especially Facebook. Me personally with work, family, and gardening hybridizing and pet things, I don't get a chance to spend much time online fortunately. Other hobbies and thing I have volunteered for taking up time as well.

I think that's a problem we all have. I know I have to cut back occasionally in order to do things I have to get done in real life. I agree that Dave does a marvelous job here with site security.

Joanna, I am so glad to hear your are sticking around. I have enjoyed some of your posts and photos that I have seen. You are a great contribution to this group of plant lovers.
