I don't get snow every year, but when I do, I sure appreciate it.

Deb - we average 45" a year here. You are welcome to visit. I think snow can look very pretty from inside my house when I do not have to go anywhere. Gene

Hi,
Beautiful photos. Winter sure has its beauty; the exception, when you are waiting a a bus stop. Cheers.

Here's our resident blue heron, nicknamed 'the fisherman' by my husband. The pond he is perched over has trout and salmon in it. Occasionally we get a couple of river otters, usually when the pond is frozen (or perhaps they are just more visible then, scampering on the ice).

Oh, we're just on a creek with a farm pond dug into it years ago. It eventually feeds into Puget Sound, but we are not close to the 'big water,' much to my dismay. I always wanted to retire on the salt, but that doesn't appear to be in the cards. I'm pleasantly surprised at the wildlife we do get though - bald eagles, herons, Canadian geese, lots of ducks (mallard, wood, baffleheads) and smaller birds. We have deer in the back but they rarely venture into the yard proper. Neighbors have spotted bear, and one shot a bobcat raiding his chicken coop.

From a series - Fruit in Snow The series was really fun to shoot. I love to watch the faces of the people when they figure out the pic.
