Also I am against the raising of animals for meat.
I'm trying to go vegan because the factory farms that supply us with eggs and cheese are not treating the animals nicely during the process.
When I feel strongly about things, I MUST speak out.
And I feel strongly about the environment.
I have been Green since before that was the word for it.
I turned 16 during the gas shortages of the Carter administration and the car I wanted was a Toyota or Datsun (now Nissan), because that just seemed like the right thing to do. It didn't go well with the family member who was a Ford dealer!!
So I stood up.
And I stood up against racism in 1968 (I was 9) over the "I am a MAN" signs at the protests in Memphis even before they assassinated Dr. King. Fought THAT battle at school all the way through 12th grade. Arguing (loudly) with the cheerleaders in the restroom.... etc.
SO I started this blog as a place AMONG GARDENERS where I can be green without "preaching" on someone else's thread.
And I invited some people I think MAY be with me on these things. But I am not positive about many of the invitees and I am SURE there are others here.
If you're finding this, pitch in - treat it like a thread. I've left it open to comments.
Maybe we can pool our enthusiasm and educate each other!
