I was very lucky to get this picture of the tiny native bee, it was just inside the frame and the focus was a little off on the flower.
I shaded this flower with my body when I took this picture, have not edit or trimmed it. The second is also a waterlily, really like this picture
I just happened to see this small moth when I was trying to get some pictures of bees. I do not remember it's scientific name but it is so little know than no one knows what plants it uses as host plants for the caterpillars.
This bee held still just long enough for me to snap the picture.
This very very thin and tiny stick insect/prayingmantis was a realy find, I just happened to see it when I was getting the fish food out of the window box.
If you know where to look you can find butterfly eggs
These are the eggs of the Gulf Fritillary. The second picture is the face of a very tiny GF caterpillar
Well that is all for today, I hope y'all enjoy my pictures
Most people think of Macro as taking pictures of very tiny things. But it is really more taking "life" size 1:1 is how it is read.. You can take a picture of larger things and it will still be a Macro shot. Let me show a few of mine.
The first is a Amaryllis flowers
The second is of a Waterlily
This next one is a very very old picture that I took with my first 35mm camera, it is not as close but is still would be classed as a "macro" or a close up
This next on I would class as a true Macro shot, and it was a pain to get as the wind was blowing and I am not that steady any more. Took 10 shots to get this one. That is a butterfly egg
Here is what will come out of that egg. This is the Caterpillar of a
Gulf Fritillary Butterfly, they feed on Passion Flower Vines
All the above pictures are classed as Macro or Close ups.
Hope you enjoyed my pictures
As I said before I like to look close at thing. With Macro photograph the depth of field(what is in focus) is very shallow. But if you can get it right you can see things that the naked eye can not.
Join me and see what I saw the last couple of days through the eye of my camera.
The Wing of a Buckeye butterfly
The upper wing of a Monarch butterfly
The underwing of a Manarch butterfly
Four views of a Gulf Fritillary
The painted Lady
And last the underwing of a Painted Lady. Most people would not think this wing was not as pretty as the upper but look closer and see the beautiful detail and you can even see some of the scales.
Thank you for looking through my camera eye
I love to take pictures, but not your usual picture. No pictures of parties, people or common things. I love to look at things around me.
Join me as I travel through my world as see things through the eye of my camera
Many years ago I so close up pictures of flowers and bugs and even common things and the desire to cature some of these on film bit.
I get my first camera a Olympic manuel 35mm with a 50 mm macro lens. With that camera and lens I was able to take pictures of wildflowers, bugs, landscapes, sunsets and fireworks. But the price of film and processing help me back.
No fast forward. Eight years ago I get my first Digital camera and now I have my second Digital camera, 4 macro lens, and a telephoto lens. And the world once more is coming into focus. I do have a lot to learn and relearn but I am enjoying it greatly.
Come see the world through the lens of my camera
My new passion is butterflys and thier caterpillars. I am planning to build a butterfly house this winter so I can raise and take pictures of the stages of their lifes
Here is a 3 of the Black Swallowtail caterpillers that had me scrambling to find plants to keep them feed. One day I have to go on a 4 hour round trip to get fennel and parsley plants for them.
This pupae is now save in my butterfly cage with the other ones I ended up buying when I was down getten the fennel from the butterfly farm. 18 pupae and 9 specials
This one came out of one I missed finding
this is the kind of pictures I strive to take.
Hope you enjoyed these
Good night '
