I don't know who said it, but I totally agree with them.
"The best pesticide is the gardener's shadow."
I love getting up in the morning and meandering in my gardens. I check under the leaves of the cucurbits for squash bug eggs and pick off any I see, or I squish any of the bugs. Being vigilant with the plants really helps you get to know your garden on a deeper level. This is the most beautiful time of day in the garden. You can't beat the smell of the coffee-and-earth combination. What a great way to wake up!
I can also make note of tasks that need to be done for the day.
For the record, I am against all things that harm the balance of life in my garden.
Have fun this season getting to know your garden!
