I used to grow peas in the ground, but ever since I discovered how well they do in containers, I have used this method to grow my peas.
Start your seedlings by sprinkling seeds liberally in your pot and covering them with about an inch of soil. You won't use rows with this method. You will just have a patch of peas.
Use bamboo poles as supports for the peas.
If you don't have bamboo stakes, tomato cages will work just as well and look pretty also.
