I've discovered that I have more seedlings that need to be moved to intermediate pots, around 3" or so in size, until they grow large enough to be placed in the ground or put into larger pots.
A while back when I was sick, I started drinking a lot of the sports drinks (PowerAde or GatorAde) in the 32-oz containers. A couple of weeks ago I thought of what a waste it would be to just throw them in the trash when they probably could be reused for something. I took one of the bottles and cut right below the wraparound label with a razor blade knife, which acted as a good guide of where to cut. Be careful when doing this, though, especially when initially getting the cut started.
After doing this, I turned it over and drilled six holes in the bottom, at the bottom of the triangle, but you can drill them wherever you want.
When the pots are finished, they are about 3 1/2" wide. Here's how I'm using a few that I have made:
