Growing flowers in a container is so easy. No rules need apply to have beautiful containers this summer.

There is no huge secret to creating fabulous containers. The only rules are to use plants you enjoy.

You'll need to water them almost every day in the summer, and twice a day if you live in the southern states. Throw some fertiliser in at half strength with every watering. I use compost in my containers so I can skip the fertiliser.

The container doesn't matter much either. Old bathtubs, toilets, sinks, boots - if it can hold soil it can hold a plant.

Here are a few ideas to get your imagination rolling.

Remember, anything goes. You're not limited; there are no rules. Grab some of your favourite plants, some soil, and have fun!

You can even plant veggies in containers.

Don't forget to take into consideration the amount of light your plants require.

I hope I've inspired you to try containers this year.
