[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Michael Bennett') | Posted on February 11, 2024 ]

This daylily is shown to be registered as spatulate, I do not see that look at all in the photos presented here. Does any one see this daylily as showing the spatulate form?

I noticed the stamen seems to also show the colors of the eye. I had not noticed that on any other plant.

This plant has the best looking foliage in the garden today. It has almost no yellowing dying leaves and stands out as being the greenest foliage by far. Plan to work it into more of my crosses.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Lava Flow') | Posted on September 30, 2022 ]

Most people know that Lava Flow is an early bloomer, one of the very earliest in my garden. But, for me it bloomed throughout the season and bloomed so far this year until the last day of September.
It's been a good multiplier also in my garden. The first bloom scapes this year were very short due to a late cold snap, but some of the rebloom scapes were almost chest high.
The blooms are prettier and brighter in the early season, but they are also some of the prettiest in the late season simply because not much else with vivid colors is blooming at that time.

This plant by William Marchant was new to me this year and has quickly become one of my favorites. Beautiful blooms, and sets a pod with almost every try.

A lot of my Guy Pierce plants have super scapes, but this one by Fred Manning outdid them all this year and produced the thickest scapes in the entire garden. I was not expecting that.

Even though this plant is in full sun it seems to set a pod with anything put on it, even in the Alabama heat.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Ransom Note') | Posted on June 13, 2022 ]

This plant has produced tall thick scapes.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Desiderata') | Posted on January 10, 2022 ]

This plant has performed well throughout the year, makes some large fans.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Pixie Daydream') | Posted on October 1, 2021 ]

Today is Oct. 1st 2021, and the best looking foliage of all the daylilies in the entire garden is on 'Pixie Daydream'.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Crimson Beacon') | Posted on February 23, 2021 ]

This daylily makes large fans with long leaves.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Chan Dom Vongthirath') | Posted on February 9, 2021 ]

I was on Ladybug daylily site today, and I noticed that Dan had "Not Fertile" posted for this daylily.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Laura Harwood') | Posted on June 30, 2018 ]

Beautiful blooms but the scapes are too short and the blooms are often down in the foliage.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Happy and Blessed') | Posted on June 12, 2018 ]

I have not been able to set a pod on this plant so far. It is very pollen fertile, however.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Mini Pearl') | Posted on March 24, 2018 ]

Dark shiny short green foliage, best looking foliage in the entire garden.

This summer was the first year after at least 10 years that I actually had new plants volunteer from seed. I had tried on several occasions to plant seed and none ever geminated. This year I kept finding new small plants popping up all in the lawn. This year my neighbor discovered a plant growing probably 100 feet from any of the others I had given her. It is amazing how fast these plants can grow.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Enchanting Esmerelda') | Posted on July 29, 2017 ]

This plant is the most rust prone plant in my garden. It finally got to the point there was not a single leaf on this plant.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Taunus Orange Candy') | Posted on May 13, 2017 ]

I just saw this, and was wondering why the hybridizer named the plant "Taunus Orange Candy' then in the written description writes "pink with purple eyezone and green to yellow throat'. No mention in the description of the bloom actually being Taunus Orange, no mention of orange at all. I wonder if there was a mistake in the registration of the plant.

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Gilded Shadows') | Posted on August 1, 2015 ]

"cool mornings can bring out a halo not mentioned in the written description by the hybridizer, this can be seen in some of the photos"

[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Scottish Fantasy') | Posted on July 17, 2015 ]

I planted this plant in late March and it was the best performing plant of the seven planted at the time. It is the largest and has produced the most blooms. Also, this plant is a bud builder in my garden. It's very unusual for me to have a bud builder.
