I personally am not a fan of old garden roses. I grow modern roses. But I did read read about this old garden rose and how fragrant it is and that it reblooms, so I decided to try it. I had it for some years, but after a while I dug it up and gave it away to a friend. In rainy weather the blooms did not open. They kind of got stuck past the bud stage and then would rot instead of opening. So I had brown mushy blooms, and I do spray my roses with fungicide, but Comte de Chambord was very disappointing in my garden.

According to helpmefind.com, Comte de Chambord does very well in colder parts of the world, and this rose is highly recommended in Norway.
