The seed parent bulbs of the 'Golden Splendor' strain are believed to have been lost during a Willamette Valley flood. The bulbs being sold today tend to show a lot of variation in color as they are not the same as the original strain.

This lily is rather nicer than 'Pink Perfection', having blooms of clear, non-fading, saturated yellow that look right at home in an informal cottage garden setting. Still, it is a very tall, lanky and floppy grower with a fragrance that is only discernible at night. Pleasant but not one of my favorites so far.
