This grandiflora has been extremely popular with rose gardeners for the last 40 years, and with good reason: The bush is tall and sturdy, the fragrance is heavenly, and the blooms are gorgeous. They start out in the classic high-centered shape of a hybrid tea and then flatten to an intricate arrangement of petals, sometimes quartered. The rose is officially categorized as an orange blend, but the blooms are predominantly apricot and pink in my garden. The rose is hardy all the way to zone 4 without extra winter protection. I have three Arizona bushes, scattered around the garden because Arizona deserves to be seen more than once by anyone making the rounds.
