I sowed the seed some time over winter 2006/7. They germinated well but were very slow to grow, even by spring 2011 the tubers were so small I despaired they would ever do anything. I had put some in the ground in spring 2010 but they apparently didn't like where I put them, although some may still be alive. The smallest ones I kept in a small pot, it overwintered outside 2010/11 when we had 7 weeks of temperatures at or below freezing down to -17C. It was those in the pot which flowered this year! I grew them in a very free draining 'river soil' with leaf compost.

Mine was also very slow growing. I lifted it when I moved house but it didn't survive.
