I have an offspring from my other Palm that is colored lighter green than the parent plant. Both are in the same potting soil mixed with dirt, the young one has never had the dark green color of the parent. Any ideas why? One is in indirect lighting, the young one gets direct lighting, the only difference in how they are handled. Second pix is parent plant.

My guess is either too much direct sun or a nutrient deficiency:

Since it's already stressed, I'm not sure adding fertilizer at this time of year is a good idea; maybe just move it's location to less sun for now and wait until spring to fertilize. I'd also suggest a plant food/fertilizer specifically for palms and use only 1/4 of the strength suggested on the package. Plants grown indoors don't need as much fertilizer as those planted in the ground outside.

I re-potted the palm in a larger pot and moved it into the room with the parent plant, it is happy now, thank you for the info. Indirect light, two new normal fronds
