I got this rose from my friends garden when she passed away a number of years ago, but I know nothing about it. All I know is it's probably quite old and is a very sprawly rambler type. It has a flush of small pink flowers in June that start out medium pink and end up light pink or almost white and little to no fragrance. I've never seen it grown to its full potential as it either gets winter kill or I've had to move it but one summer it sent out some very long canes. I'm thinking it *might* be Dorothy Perkins but HMF says she ages to a dark pink where as mine fades to near white. This is the only photo I have of the bloom so if anyone wants to take stab at guessing who she is I would be very greatful!

I know very little about rose ID but the sprawling growth and flowering habit sounds a bit like my Seven Sisters.

I disagree with HMF on this one. The blooms on Dorothy Perkins do turn lighter pink and white as they age. Here's a closeup of some of them. You can see how much the older ones resemble your photo.

Zuzu, that looks just like mine! Thank-you for posting your photo to help ID it. I checked out the Seven Sisters as well but it has too many shades of pink to be the same rose. Does your Dorothy Perkins have any fragrance?

No fragrance that I ever detected. It's also prone to powdery mildew in my climate, although it might not be in yours.

I bought a Super Dorothy from Pickering to replace one of my Dorothy Perkins roses a few years ago, and I'm so pleased with it that I'll probably replace all of them. Super Dorothy looks exactly the same, but it's a repeat bloomer and isn't susceptible to powdery mildew.

Wow, I didn't know there was a Super Dorothy! Here Plain Dorothy is prone to blackspot but I just pick off the ugly leaves but other then that shes fine. I'm going to check out the Super one on Pickering! Thank you!

Super Dorothy does look the same! I was looking on Pickering yesterday and was dissapointed to see I mised their spring order dates Not like I need any more roses...............

Is it far from you? Can you go there and buy the roses on site?

Its not too far, but from what I saw on the site you can only do pick-up orders but you still have to order them by the spring date I think. If I could go shop, I would be there like a shot !
