Tuscawilla Snowdrift has had three winters with us. This evergreen beauty starts out with hung-up foliage from spring freezes and seems to have a tough start each year on shortish 17" scapes. Last year, my clump started blooming around 6/12/23 (which is mid to late.)

Rebloom starts in Early July, on taller and better-branched scapes (20" to 24" here in 7a.) Budcount is still puny, but, boy is she graceful! I always have to stop and look, and often take a picture. A very nice clean greenish-white that these pics don't do justice to.

Fertile both ways. Here I managed to set a pod with Carol Van Sciver.

She is one of those near-whites that comes out of a purple program. Her converted version has produced some real lovelies, including Whirling White, one of my faves. She has sev and dormant kids, so we can assume she has one of those genes hiding behind her dominant evergreen habit. I would like to see more dormant babies from her- plants that really hit the ground running each year.

I had this plant a couple of years ago. It didn't do well for us. It died. Evergreens don't do very well in our yard.

I planted it in September of 2020. First bloom was on May 18 2021, the first blooms did not open fully. But we did have a late cold spell. Rebloomed on June 13, June 18, July 8 and July 16. In 2022 first bloom was also on May 18, but I know it bloomed again, but I can't find another picture. It has already increased up to 10 fans. I really like the blooms.

I'm new to daylilies but I love this one, the photos are beautiful, I'm glad I didn't plant it though hearing about it being tender.
Nothing going to make it in Ohio if it's tender. ☺️
I planted a few seeds of it crossed with Cosmic Kaleidoscope. Probably not enough to get what I'd like but maybe I will find an offspring that can survive Ohio's winters.
I wish I could understand why nature has to be so cruel. I don't like it, but I have no choice but to make the best of it.

It looks like Cosmic Kaleidoscope has a dor or sev gene in there. If the two non-evergreen genes got together, perhaps the dormant or sev offspring has a bit more staying power through the winter. Or not. It's the wet and warm that rots and dooms many, not just the cold. And microclimate matters. Just saying. You never know (until you know.) It might do okay for you, Pete. What zone are you?

@alma47 Sounds as if this is a plant that likes the South. Do you have any observations about rust resistance?
