I am newer to gardening. I only started in 2020 and then for only one season I bought this tomato plant hoping to begin this hobby and new but I realized it's two in one can I divide and split it or should I keep it as is before I plant it? Thanks

I always plant 2 tomato plants per hole so I would leave it as is. At this size, I'm not sure the split would be successful anyway.

If I needed the extra plant... I'd soak rootball in a bucket of water, enough that I could pull plants apart.

Then, if it's hot, and the sun is shining, I might need to pot plants up individually, and place under shade tree until they are less tender from the separation... moving them out into the full sun after a few days... and then decant and plant into the garden after a week or two...

In Kentucky, it might not be too hot to plant directly in the garden... down here, I sometimes have to wait for a rainy day.

Or as above, you can just plant as is.

I'd leave them alone and just make sure the pot is big enough. Two together are usually okay. If it's three or more, I divide them. Gently, after a good soak. Tomatoes can grow new roots all along their stem, so if you lose some roots in dividing, plant them deep.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.
