I would like to post some of my seedlings, but I would like to have others post there's here also. I think we all would like to see what others here are doing, not just the major hybridizers. To me seedlings are the most enjoyable part of this hobby. It amazes me that I can make a cross this year and see it bloom next year. I know a lot of areas it takes two to there years but its worth the wait. If you haven't tried hybridizing your missing the best part of growing daylilies.
I hybridize mostly tet round eyed and edge but I do a little with all of them except doubles. The only dips I do any longer are ufs on a small scale. I try to plant 1500-2000 seed each year and will see most bloom the following year. I keep seedling two years and then what few I do not keep are sold or destroyed. The first ones I will post are two year olds that I pulled from the seedling beds last fall to hybridize on and evaluate them for possible registration in the future. This was my favorite Tet two year this year, got several descent seedlings from Lillian's Alabama Sunrise the pass couple of years.

This is the pollen parent to the above seedling. If the scape on this seedling were taller(only 20 inchs) I would have registered it last year. I will continue to use it for a bridge plant, also set lots of seed on it this year.Thumb of 2010-08-20/spunky1/b3e157

I thought this was very different when It first bloomed last year, for some reason it failed to bloom this year, in fact I thought I had lost it for a while. I will keep it to look at another year. Thumb of 2010-08-20/spunky1/8f7bc7

This is a sib to the above, the brightest thing to bloom here the last couple of years. I do not like the form so it most likely will hit the compost pile next year if it doesn't improve. Thumb of 2010-08-20/spunky1/06af87

Thanks Charlie. So sorry you lost your pics. I heard about the hacking situation there. It's a good thing that I had not posted my pics yet I guess.

Very nice seedlings Cindy, really like the third and forth. I also lost a lot of pictures on that site, I did put a few back on. Post your seedlings here Charlie, I know nothing about Ella's.

Dip Ufs and spiders are what I started with many years ago, there were not that many tets available. I also like the dip ufs and spiders better than the tets. I started with a lot of Jack Temple stuff because he lives near us and he encouraged me to do spiders, then the AHS dropped the spider variant form and established the UF forms, which is a lot easier to produce than a true spider.
