Hi, do any of you know where I can get Quatre Saisons. My fave cousin has a milestone Bday coming up and I know she has been looking for this rose for a long time and every place she and I have found that carries it are out of stock.

The rose is readily available from many nurseries. It is sold under several different names.

One question, first ... in general where does your cousin live ? Damask roses require chill hours to thrive.

Lyn, thank you so very much. She lives in NW Texas about 50 miles north of where our grandfather grew one. Now, the big question is.....can you make easy cuttings from this rose,

She might want to give a special cousin one, or two, hehehe

Yes, you can take cuttings. However, some roses are easily propagated because the cuttings take off like fire and others are harder to propagate simply because the cuttings don't take easily.

Also, there are a lot of variables involved. You also have to find the propagation method that works in your climate and get the timing right or have a greenhouse where you have more control. Ambient temperatures and humidity can impact how easily a cutting may take along with a lot of other variables.

Or you can purchase plants from the Antique Rose Emporium right there in Texas and not worry about it.

I was kidding, about the cutting but it would be sweet if she did. My grandfather put his cuttings under a very large pickle jar and I don't believe it ever failed
I found it at the ARE, it was right there under Autumn Damask. I can't thank you enough
She will be so happy and might even forget how old she will be this year,
