This is just the beginning. She will be holding up the wind vane that is on the ground on one side and ??? on the other. The top of her hat is open so she can have some kind of potted plant decorating it. I have some ideas for finishing touches...paint ? add lengths of chain for hair?...dangle colored beads from hat brim? use gloves to make concrete hands ?

Oh, and she needs a name!

She is about 5 ft 6 inch tall. and the wind vane will turn freely over her head making the total height about 7 ft.

When she is finished I am going to place her in the front of the house...think the neighbors will notice?

I have been "shopping" alleys and junkyards for months to get pieces to work with for her. I don't weld, so she is put together with nuts and bolts and wire.

Tin Lizzy is now situated in front of the house and is creating quite a breeze. The first to notice her was a little boy from a few houses down the drive. I was watching him race a puppy on his tricycle through the window when he did a quick turn and rode right up to Tin Lizzy. He looked at her for a couple of seconds and laughed. Then he waved at her and rode away to catch up with the puppy who was still going the other way.

Three neighbors came down this morning for a closer look and introduced themselves to Lizzy and ask what I was going to do for an encore.

I think I'll wait until spring to pot her head and basket. But for now she is acting as the neighborhood goodwill ambassador.
