My cat wouldn't have been deterred by them one bit. Be a nice toy for her on top of the dirt.

Mine weren't either in the pots up in the greenhouse.

The plant was just asking for it.

I try not to have any living plants inside the house, because of the four that come inside. You're right, they mostly do as they please. The one that won't come in acts a bit needy because her mother is gone and none of the others like her (not even her sister), because she was a bully cat. She wants to make sure I still care about her, so she seeks me out a lot when she can.

I don't keep plants inside either as my two, Barney & Feif always make a bee line for them.

Our two here, Tikoy and Smokey are quite familiar with plants, since they were initially strays that came by our garden and eventually adopted us. So they look forward to their daytime routine of going out to explore the outdoors, though lately, just sleeping in the garden. In the mornings, they go in and out of our house, they know food is indoors, so they have to come back here.

They do not bother any of my plants indoors either. I guess it just depends how they got acclimated to things.

What they cannot resist though is rubbing against my Crassula ovata 'Gollum', I think it feels like fingers to them

Tikoy frustrates me when he seems to deliberately poo on the carpet, in that particular corner, just about a feet away from their litterbox. He uses the litterbox, but for some reason, I know when he is angry or upset, he will use that carpet area. I am not sure if he is just marking that spot to push away Smokey, or just being mischievous. I think that is the only thing irksome with them..ah yes...the usual litter scatter..but such is life with felines. Tikoy is much more territorial than Smokey. Smokey is just the cuddliest one.

I did put some protection to some of my plants outdoors, just in case they think they will like to dig, So far they do not dig in any of my containers.

My Plumeria had this for cat protection, just in case...that area is their favorite path going in and out of my garden.
