Thread OP
Temecula, CA
What can a woman wear when she is working around thorny plants? I need to clean out the center of some sago palms that have filled with pine needles. The "leaves" have spikes that prick the heck out of my legs. Same thing with my bougainvilleas, they are really overgrown. I am using rose gloves made out of leather but the thorns go right through them. Any suggestions as what apparel would be best?

For the legs you need some chainsaw-resistant trousers (not chaps). There are various grades available and you can spend all sort of money, but as you don't need real chain protection nor moving much about even the cheapest ones will do.

The only thing that will stop any thorn from getting into your hands are welding gloves. Again, many many option available, from budget to professional grade.

For thorns, definitely NoCry gloves - or, in my case, "no blood plus a lot less cursing gloves". Plus the reviews are quite entertaining. Nothing entertains like blackberry thorns, LOL!

Awesome all-around gardening glove.
