I mostly find lady slipper orchids during orchid shows. I am not familiar with Fresno, but if I search online, the one that shows up where orchids are for sale: not sure though if they carry slipper orchids, but you can try and see
1) Orchid Barn
2) The Elegant Orchid

If there is none there and you are willing to do a bit of a drive, go to Sta.Barbara where Sta. Barbara Orchid Estates is, or call them first if they do have slipper orchids, to save you time and effort.

Good Luck! Hope you can find one, or if you can attend Orchid Shows, there are always vendors there that carry slipper orchids grown from nurseries. I attend if I can Pacific Orchid Show in San Francisco, this year it is in Feb 21-24, 2019. I make the effort to go there if I can, that is where I really see good specimens.

What kind of Lady Slipper? If you mean Paphiopedilum, try Trader Joe's - they always have some beautiful orchids. If you mean Cypripedium, the wild Lady Slippers, I don't know.

I think the Orchid Barn is out of business.

why do you want a lady slipper? honestly i think they are more trouble than they are worth.... many natives grow much easier.

most are federally protected here . and illegal to dig from the wild, but most nursheries that sell them do it anyway or buy the plants from poachers or middlemen and as a result many populations of this iconic orchid genius are fast disappearing.

they are hard to grow and impossible for the home gardener to propergate other than extereme devision. a lady slippers seed takes years to put up a leaf much less a flower. in the twin cities area at least the populations of native slippers are dead, killed off by humans. they will never come back never... gone.

expect to have it in writing that the plants are lab cultivated, so you don't get in trouble. and to pay a lot of money plus spending years indoctering the soil. lady slippers need forest fungus to reproduce and just to live require lime or speical additives.

if you want to spend the money . Itastica lady slipper farm and vermont lady slipper company are the only legally grown sources i know of.

on the other hand asian lady slippers are yes expensive but fun stay small house plants that stay indoors, tolerate low light, they are easy to grow and wont get you in trouble with local police/DNR.

i have one that's bloomed three times.
