Hi Colm21, do you have photos when it actually bloomed, so we can see if it is indeed Dancing Lady orchid. Did you notice if the plant tried to do any new pseudobulbs?
For the most part, since our area here is much drier, I find Oncidiums such water hogs, they like frequent watering. I usually get my blooms in Spring or in Fall when it is outdoors, or during winter when it is indoors. It likes a good cool down here in my area since we get too onerously hot during summer and our dry period is quite long.
At times, they would need to feel a temperature drop, to initiate bloomstalks. Also, once the pseudobulb has made a bloom, it will have to make a new pseudobulb and that is where your new bloomstalk will come from.
Describe a bit more your growing area since we all have different growing scenarios, where you position the plant if grown indoors, your watering regimen, did you repot recently etc.
