Glad everyone made it home and have a few goodies. I thought I was going to burst with excitement when Leslie said..."this is Doris ( ok nice, a new daylily friend) she is Casshigh on Daves and ATP and this is her huband David". Scream..jump...hug. It was so nice to meet them in person and see Leslie again.

I forget where I read it, but I must agree with Leslie, in the visits reminded me how important it was to see plants in person.
My Mecca Madness has a scape so I look forward to seeing it.

Pam, thanks for posting those pictures. I like the yellow double, too. I also like the picture of David! Once I get a few minutes to breathe, I will take a look at the pictures we took and post some. I have not looked at the first one yet. We came home to lots of WORK! Time to get back out there.

Can't wait to see your pics, Lesley! And thanks so much again for posting that picture of MIX AND MATCH for me. I'd be interested to know what you thought of it. Did it seem to you that it had teeth, or just more of a fringy border?

OH Betty, sorry, I don't remember. I'm not into teeth so beyond remembering that you wanted toothy pics I didn't pay much attention. I'll redeem myself, however, by showing you the seedlings with teeth that Dan had. They were amazing.

Leslie, we all look forward to your photos from Mecca. I was lucky to get to go last year for the first time and it is surprising just how small an operation some of the hybridizers have. Having never been before that I envisioned lots of greenhouses but certainly didn't find that. I enjoyed looking at the seedlings most. What fun.

and acres of plantings and multiple greenhouses.

Not everyone has a greenhouse. The ones who don't are Dan Hansen, the Lambertsons, the Abajians, the Kinnebrews, Nicole didn't until this year, John Peat, Phil Rielly. I never thought about it, but about half don't.

Dan Hansen has the biggest garden at about 4 acres. Several of the gardens, including the Kinnebrews, the Abajians, the Reillys and even the Trimmers are fairly small. Nicole has the prettiest one followed by her dad at Frank's old place.
